Our next training session will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 2 pm to 3 pm EDT. Thereafter, we will hold training on Wednesday afternoons from 2 pm to 3 pm for a total of 12 weeks, with an optional 13th meeting on a special topic (i.e., kids with OCD). The cost is $850 and can be paid online. Up to 13 CEs are available through the Connecticut Psychological Association (CPA).

At the New England OCD Institute four years ago, we offered our first online, international OCD training in partnership with IOCDF and the Peace of Mind Foundation. Participants should have at least a master's degree in a mental health-related field and some experience working with people with serious mental illness. Some graduate student spots are available. Participants must also be proficient in English.
The training program will include up to 13 hours of instruction on OCD facts, assessment, and treatment, as detailed below. Participants must have good internet service with video capabilities. Sessions should occur in a quiet, private place, on a laptop, not a cell phone. Headphones are recommended.

There is an optional drop-in group supervision component for an extra fee. It includes online weekly group supervision of cases for half an hour, with up to 6 people per group meeting. At the first meeting, each participant will introduce themselves and present their OCD case and conceptualization to the group for discussion. Subsequent meetings will focus on the treatment of these patients and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Dr. Bruce began her OCD treatment journey with Dr. Monnica Williams at the Louisville OCD Clinic in Kentucky, where she gained extensive experience and knowledge on how to treat OCD and similar disorders. She earned her doctorate from Spalding University in Louisville, KY, and is currently working as a doctoral intern at the University of North Carolina Charlotteâ €™s Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) while also providing training and supervision to other clinicians for OCD treatment.
Dr. Bruce has extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard format for OCD. She has written seminal papers on OCD and unacceptable thoughts. She also recognizes the importance of culture and identity and strives to practice a multicultural framework for individuals of different backgrounds.
Dr. Williams is a board-certified clinical psychologist and Clinical Director of the Behavioral Wellness Clinic. She is also an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. Her work focuses on ethnic minority mental health and psychopathology research. She completed her undergraduate studies at MIT and UCLA and received her doctoral degree from the University of Virginia. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania for four years, followed by five years at the University of Louisville, where she served as Director of the Center for Mental Health Disparities. Dr. Williams has published over 150 scientific articles, primarily on OCD, trauma, and cultural issues. She serves on the International OCD Foundation's Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board and is BTTI faculty. She also provides diversity training nationally for clinical psychology programs, conferences, and organizations.
